Congrats Pab1981 and Ifish on a great tournament. I wish I would have known all of these Crappie.com members were there I would have said Hi and introduced myself. My partner and I came in 6th on pro side. Had a great weight on first day but struggled on the second day a bit.

Thanks, would have liked to talked to you. Fun weekend and felt like we fished solid but still managed to lose money. It was explained to me that we(4th place in Pro sided) basically got to eat the taxes the state of Kentucky is requiring now. I am not speaking for my partner Buddy at all, but I personally won't be fishing anymore of the bigger tournaments based out of the state of Kentucky. Have to think long and hard about what tournaments I fish period but probably still fish the one's based out of the fine state of TN.

    Austin,

Is this "losing money" due to fishing in the Pro Division? Or is it the same for the Amateurs side as well??

Amateur side 4th place lost $100 from previous pay schedule, Pro side 4th place lost $400 from tourneys of similar size compared to this weekend after tax law took effect in July. It ended up being 4th place amateur paid $200 and Pro side paid $200 4th place. Amateur did have few more boats but Pro side entry is double the amateur entry. We actually lost money as in entry fee was more than we got paid.

I still had a big time and anybody fishing crappie tournaments for the money will probably be disappointed but still leaves one to consider how they want to use their money and vacation time.

Wow, I sure didn't know that at all. It sure is hard to fish that hard and spend that kinda money not to even win your entry fee back. Like you said though anyone fishing tournaments for the money will end up disappointed.
