That's funny. They don't grow out if it either. Mine is 15 and he'll catch the first fish then eat everything in the boat and go to sleep.

Going to take the boys (son and nephew) Friday for a little bit. They love being out on the boat and catching fish, but....they eat about 27 pounds of snacks per hour while on the water!! Anyone else experience this? I have to pack a dry storage console with food for them

They can’t eat what isn’t there. When I first started guiding I would pack my Engle cooler with sodas and sports drinks along with bottled water. I found out real quick a 12 year old boy can drink $50 worth in a trip if allowed. It’s bottled water now or bring your own.

Yep. Last year my girls were 3 & 4 and I started taking them. I take a bag full of junk food on the boat for them. Lots of little debbies, "fruit" snacks, and chips; with healthiest things being nuts and granola bars. I also stop at the gas station or marina, and let them pick out one candy. If we stay out all day, I get them ice cream in the afternoon. This is all with the understanding that they behave and eat lunch, and is 99% successful.

I never eat on the boat, but my boy will absolutely destroy a sack of dodge store groceries

Kids are eating machines. Cannot much blame them I never go out on the boat without taken some sort of food. Some of the lakes fish are very remote. If you break down might be out there all night.

In this heat don't forget a drink or two that has electrolytes 8n it. Water alone can leave you feeling I'll at the end of a long hot day. The better half and I spent all day at Rough on Tuesday and it was HOT HOT HOT. In addition to water she packed a few drinks from the fitness center where she works, which contained electrolytes. Could be coincidence but I did not feel nearly as drained as usual after a long day.
Speaking of Rough River Lake....we cranked all day with just one crappie netted, along with a dozen slimers and drum.
