Default Fishfinder display to smart device?

Is there, and/or should there be, technology that displays what an imaging device is showing on a smart device?
Basically an app that connects the fishfinder to the smart device. That way a person fishing from location in the boat (or even sitting at home) that couldn't see the imaging device would have access. Just a curiosity.

Greenfish ... if you're asking if there's a depth finder unit that can send the screen info to your phone (via wi-fi or bluetooth), I haven't seen or heard of any.

But, as Eric has pointed out, there are several different setups that turn your phone into the screen of a depth finder ... but they require using the transducer of these different setups, and don't use your current depth finder units or transducers to send the info to your phone. There's the iBobber, Deeper SS, T-box, Lucky, Fish Hunter, & Wi-Fish ... but they're all units in their own right & have their own transducers, using wi-fi to send the signal to your phone screen, because they don't have screens of their own.

    CrappiePappy,
I am asking if there is a unit that can send the screen info to your phone or tablet.
But those other products are interesting in their own right!

You may not like it because smart devices do not have sunlight viewable screens ...

What rickie said. I mirror my elite 9(console) to an iPad mounted below my bow unit. You can control the unit with a tablet but it's only viewable on a phone. It is a little more difficult to see in certain angles of sunlight but it beats having to turn the console unit around or get up and go back to see what its reading.
