    Default Cave Run 8/1 report

My son and I headed up to the lake Wednesday night after church for an all nighter. It was tough windy night but we still managed to catch about 60 fish with 15 keepers. Spider rigged all night, Fish were caught using a chartreuse with blsck tail slider, and Funky Monkey sliders fishing 30-32 fow around 18 feet deep. The 3rd fish I caught was a really nice 14 3/4 inch crappie the other keepers were around 10 inch mark. I had a great time with just me and my 12 year old boy, we laughed and cut up all night. Cave run can be a really tough lake but the fish are there just have to spend some time to find them. God Bless Name: Capture%2B_2018-08-03-08-18-46.jpeg

Water conditions were good just stained a little, but seems like they are pulling the lake pretty hard from all the rain, I didn't actually check just seemed like it to me. That would also help explain the slow bite, we usually catch well over 100 on most occasions at this lake. Good luck

According to the COE charts .... outflow has been pretty light the last several days. The thermocline looks to be around the 15-18ft depths. Lake is only above Pool by 6-8 inches.

Congrats on the catch (even though that's probably secondary to having a blast with your son).
