Yeah, Tom ... unfortunately they're making their way up the Tenn River, and may be showing up in Chickamauga & Watts Bar before long. When they do get into Watts Bar, that will take that lake off my list of lakes to fish.

They've gone as far as they can in KY & Barkley lakes, so they're not a menace to any lakes North of there (in KY) ... but, they have traveled up the Salt River, as far as they can go, which is the spillway below Taylorsville Lake. They can't get into the lake, because there is no lock for them to get thru ... so as long as nobody nets them as "Shad" and takes them up to the lake, then the lake is safe from them. Of course, it wasn't safe from the Zebra Mussel, so who knows.

I was seeing them in Chattanooga 5 years ago. They're already there.

All the more recent reports I've seen say that the Bigheads have made it all the way to Watts Bar, but not in any numbers. What the TWRA calls "the leading edge" of the invasion (which I guess means an obvious/noticeable population) is around Guntersville Lake. But that info comes from a pdf that has no date on it, so it could be much further up the Tenn River system.

While reading some of the articles, I did notice that the KDFWR is "aware" of the fact that they have made it up the Salt River as far as the dam/spillway at Taylorsville Lake. ( https://fw.ky.gov/Fish/Pages/Asian-C...formation.aspx )
