Default biggest Smallmouth you have ever seen on KY lake

What is the biggest Smallmouth you have seen or heard of on KY lake? I was lucky enough to hook into a 22 incher last week that was over 5 lbs and was wondering if that was mounter status for KY lake and worth putting on the wall. what would you do? throw it on the wall or keep searching ? such pretty colors they have!

thank in advance to you that respond!

Why should it matter what anybody else thinks? Obviously you thought the fish was worthy of the wall when you put it in your livewell.

I agree with Doug, all that matters is that it's a trophy to you. Put it on your wall.

I am asking because I do not live around KY lake and only am able to fish it 2 or so times a year and was wanting some input on what a trophy class smallie is out of KY. Obviously it is not Erie or dale hallow spitting out bigger fish on the regular and know as a trophy smallie factory. Was hoping to gather some info from the regulars/locals on what are some of the bigger ones you have seen or caught. Not really worried about what others think was just trying to gather some information. Thanks. PS- Mr dux it was measured and released. Looking at a replica

I've mounted KY Lake smallmouth over 7 pounds but anything over 5 is considered a trophy.

Thanks for your replys . we are not lucky enough to have any in our neck of the woods and they are a real treat to catch . I used to go to Kentucky lake to crappie fish but then last few years I have been heading down after smallies.

Remember how much fun it was catch. Think about how much fun it would be for your son or daughter to catch a fish like that. Throw it back.

He did !! It was measured & released, and a replica is being considered ... according to his previous remarks.
