Great catch by doing something different than the crowd!
Went yesterday and had a pretty good day. Launched at Holmes bend. The wind was pretty brutal for most of the day. Long lined all day and wanted to get away from the crowd by the bridge so went a little shallower. Ended up weeding through a ton a short fish and but was able to get 22 keepers and 5 white bass. Also caught and released 5 large mouth and 8 keeper bluegills.
Great catch by doing something different than the crowd!
Yes ... according to some reports I've heard, the White Bass must be on the move up river. And that should mean that the water temps are approaching the 50deg range.
I can't tell from the picture, whether or not the Crappie have much of a belly bulge, but they do seem to have some decent coloration ... to where they don't look like they've come from very dirty water.
Congrats on the catch, in spite of the brutal wind conditions.

The water had great color to it. By the end of the day the surface temp was 48. And some of the fish I cleaned had eggs in them
3-8 river light stained 49 deg. early 52 deg. late gary
Nice cooler of fish you have there.
