Exclamation Posting pics - Photobucket method

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and open a free account.
Take your pictures, then upload them into your computer. A scanner will be necessary for film photos, but most digital cameras should have a USB cord (and usually a photo download program) which you can use to place your pics into a file on your computer.

When you want to upload your pics to your Photobucket account page ...

Under "Upload Images & Video" banner
Left click on "(more options)" ... highlighted in blue
Set option to 640x480 (Large) size option by clicking on empty circle next to it
Close that window, and it takes you back to the main upload screen
Left click on the blue banner that says UPLOAD IMAGES & VIDEO
Another window should open, with files listed ...
Left click on the file folder that contains the pics you want to send to Photobucket ...
You may need to open several folders to find the pics, or even click on the icons down the left side of the window (depending on what OS you're using) ...
Once you do find the picture, left click on it ...
That should put the file name/number into the "File Name" line, at the bottom of that window ...
Left click the "Open" button, bottom right of that window ...
The window should disappear, and you should see the pic being loaded into Photobucket ...
Unless you want to add title/description to pic, just click on the "Return to Album" button, at the bottom of that page ....
That should send you back to your Photobucket album page, and the pic should be at the top left of your current pics (first in line).

If you have several pics to upload, and don't want to load them one at a time ... when you have the picture folder window open, and you can pick the pictures you want to upload ... left click on 1st picture, then hold down the "Shift" key and left click on any other pictures you want to load. This should highlite each picture, while adding ALL the file names, one after another, into the File Name line. When you click on the "Open" button, it will upload all the pics you've chosen. There may be a maximum number of pics you can upload at one time, so you may want to limit yourself to 5 or 6 at a time, if necessary.

When you are ready to post your pics ... open both sites, so you can move back and forth between them. When you are ready to place a picture into your post ... go back to the Photobucket album page, then :
Place pointer over picture, and the code lines appear below it ... move your pointer staight down, directly below your chosen picture, to the IMG Code line and left click on it ... the code line should turn blue ... right click the blue highlighted code, and a dropdown menu should appear ... left click "Copy" .... that holds the picture in your mouse's control, so you can bring it to the site and paste it ( don't use the right mouse button for anything else, in the meantime )

When you drag your pointer below your picture, you should see something like:

XXXXXXXXX-1.jpg (with a empty check box)
Icons for use with Facebook, Twitter, etc
    Email & IM (address code)
    Direct Link (address code)
    HTML Code (address code)
    IMG Code (address code)

The IMG Code line is the only one you need worry about. Don't click any boxes, put a check mark in any boxes, or click on anything EXCEPT the IMG Code address line. Copy that ... then DON'T use the right mouse button for ANYTHING ELSE, until you want to paste your picture to your post.

Now, come back to your post ... and hit the Enter key once or twice, to put space between your message and the picture (or between pictures, in the case of multiple pictures). Right click in the open space below your message, and a drop down menu should appear. Left click on the word "Paste", and the IMG Code address should appear in your post. That's your picture.
You can use the "Preview Post" button, below the message box/smilies, to look at your post before you submit it, just to make sure it looks right to you. The "preview" message will be a duplicate of your original message, and will appear above the original message box. If you need to tweak/edit/delete/add something, scroll back down to your original message box and make the change. Then check it out, again, by clicking on the Preview Post button and looking at the newly edited version. Once you're satisfied with the looks/message of your post & pics .... click on the "Submit New Thread" button, and your post/pics will appear on the forum.

Anyone having problems following these instructions, or if any of these instructions need further explaining, or if these instructions don't work, or contain errors ... PM me with details, and I'll remedy the situation.

NOW .... GO FISHING and take lots of pictures, and post them for us :D

    ... luck2ya'll ...... cp

    NOTE: (advisory added 8/5/11)
Photobucket has reverted back to automatically copying the IMG Code line, when you click on it ... so you don't have to go thru the process of using the drop down menu & choosing "copy". BUT ... that method is still usable (just no longer necessary). They may change again, so I'm leaving my walk-thru as is ... and adding this notification.
