    Default Maiden Voyage

The anticipation of finally getting on the water with my new kayak was only manageable by tactfully daydreaming in the backyard of reeling in crappie!

Today was the maiden voyage and although the weather was choppy with heavier winds it was a success in more than one way. I managed to sink two new crappie structures as well to help beef up one of my go to docks I enjoy shooting.

After safely sinking the structures it was time to see if the fish were biting. First shot under the dock and BUMP crappie on!

I had three rods with me today all were rigged with ZMAN BallerZ with simply crappie jig heads sickle hook in red color ranging in size from 1/48oz to 1/100oz size 8 and 10 hooks. The go to colors were electric chicken and coconut ice. Had one rod rigged with doubles had a fun bass catch on it. Used 4lb Suffix Elite hi-vis line.

All in all this was a very blessed and successful maiden voyage with my nucanoe. Brought home 14 ranging in size 9-10inch. Nothing gargantuan but the grease won’t mind and neither will my tastebuds! Thanks for reading and be blessed.

It’s nice a definite upgrade from what I was using before. I was able to put a trolling motor on it and that was a game changer not only in maneuverability but also I wasn’t as tired once the trip was over from paddling everywhere.

The storage space and extra foot in length was big plus as well. It was very stable I was able to stand up without feeling like it was gonna tip. Overall I recommend the nucanoe flint for anyone wanting an affordable option for a nice kayak with a trolling motor.

Congratulations on getting slime on the boat. Fishing boats are supposed to smell like fish.
Good fishing next time you go!
