Default Kayak spider rigging and longlining catch 5-24-23

Purchased the new Accend a couple months ago and been getting it set up and have made a couple trips to the lake testing everything to be sure all was like I wanted. Took the first trip just to fish and has a great day on the water. It was around 11 am before I made it to the lake, the heat of the day is never a good time to start fishing so I went to a part of the lake that has submerged standing timber and spent a few hours spider rigging the area using six rods. Was using a 12', 8' and 6' rod on each side of the yak. Not sure of the number of jigs I lost hanging up but was catching fish so I didn't mind losing a few. When the bite slowed I changed over to longlining a flat using the same rod setup that has a deep channel running up the center of a section of the lake that's around 100 yards wide. Each run through the section would put a couple of fish in the kayak. Ended the day close to 5 pm with 40+ fish caught and kept a SC limit of 20 good size crappie.

LOL! Doesn’t take many items to go over the limit. I decided to go all the way with this kayak and the limit went out the window!

Nice to see guys doing well with and enjoying the light boats. I am a solo canoe guy myself. I personally don't enjoy dealing with multiple rods at a time. I'm too uncoordinated. But I love being out in a light solo boat and enjoying a quiet day on quiet water.

That is awesome. I just got into kayak fishing and want to get into longlining this spring (made two trips out so far to test my boat and get setup but no fish so far). Been watching a lot of Crappie Connection videos but want to learn more about it here. Where should I start around here to educate myself? Thanks.
