Default Rear reel seat rod in a kayak...

Quick question for folks. I fish in a kayak and really struggle to find a way to secure my 10' rod that has a rear reel seat. The normal rod holders on my milk crate don't work, so I am wondering if any of you have found a solution. I love the rod and want to use it, but I am afraid I might lose it.

That’s why I didn’t buy any rear seats for same problem. You could attach a leash or small float to it or lay it across kayak using rod holders like this article on rigging a kayak.

Great article, thank you. I will give this a shot and if it does not work I might just have to use that rod for other applications than kayak fishing and get a new jigging pole for the kayak.

Had a bungee paddle holder on the side of the kayak. I used it to secure my rods while padding from one place to the next

They make industrial twist ties for kayaks.
Gear ties, I think they are made by Nite-Ize . Company. Google that.
I have a set I use when in swift water rivers. Work great
