Default best fishing kayak under 700?

Hey y'all! I'm looking to upgrade from my inflatable yak to a fishing kayak, ideally with lawn chair seating. I have a fish deeper fish finder that I would add the arm attachment too, and if anyone has a kayak around this price range that you can add a trolling motor that would be an extra plus!! thanks so much for your recs and tight lines!

Your probably going to have to look around for options at that price range. Plus everything has gone up in price. Might be something used you could find. Although nowadays everything is scarce. There are some new options out there but I would strongly consider saving a little more and getting a little better kayak. I started with a Lifetime Tamarack and while it was good and got me on the water it wasn't as comfortable as my Native Titan. Plus I feel way way more secure in it. There is the Lifetime Teton if you would like to check it out that would be in your budget. Just have to do some research and keep eyes open for any deals or sales.

Certainly good to find a place that has a boat you are interested in so you can demo it. A lot of kayak shops will let you do that

A good kayak paddle fit to you and a good paddle vest are also money well spent

Make sure you buy one that has pedal propulsion, I regret buying a sit-on.
    Look at Brooklyn kayaks maybe

It'll be more than $700, but if I had to do it over, I would have ponied up the $$$

That is one reason it is nice to try before you buy

I will admit when I first decided to start kayak fishing I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money especially for pedal drive. The tamarack served it's purpose and did wonderful for me. Now I don't mind spending for better since I've learned from the other and determined I like it and will stick with it. The tamarack is still being used by my daughters and my buddy and I have discussed floating down rivers with them.

I started kayaking with a Pelican 11'6" sit in. Thst thing took me to the light House in the Gulf Of Mexico. I surfed waves with it paddled with dolphins that I mistook for sharks ( that was funny once they were dolphins). If I had an odometer no telling how many miles it had seen. It fished, small white watered, and explored. Best part it brought many smiles. Old scratched up and sun faded it was given to a youngster to continue doing what I did best

Just got into it myself and the pelican premium icon 100xp angler is what I decided on and it has been good for me. I’ve been on a few good trips in it so far with more to come I’m sure for under $700 I’m very happy with it.Name: IMG_1323.jpg

My advice in that price range look for used and the best way is in my opinion is become a member of some of the Facebook kayak fishing groups in your area and post up that you are hunting a kayak... Most guys post them on the forums to the locals before market place or craigslist. I have owned 7 kayaks and only bought 2 new. I am fishing out of a 13 year old Native Ultimate that has been hauled all over and I bought it cheap...it has an excellent seat and is very comfortable.
