Wind is never your friend unless you are a sailor, LOL. I put a rudder kit on mine from Amazon that seems to be a clone of the one on my 13' Pelican. I mounted it on wood and tied the front end to a crate with the rubbers from the yack. Serves as a base for the white running light as well.

Size: 57.2 KB Both have anchor tracks and rudders. I have full electronics from Garmin on both with night lights, extra pole holders and milk crates. The little 10 easy one hand into the pickup. The 13 is heavy two man rig with more than a sensible man would put on a kayak. That said I've had her on large lakes with wake boats and it rides like a Navy destroyer. I'm not looking back on either. I do like the Hobie Mirage with side steering.Name: DS40_144046-SV90.jpg
