Default Millennium rod holder retrofit to kayak

I think I would rather have tracks as that is what I have been used to in the past but now I have H-rails.
The h-raises seem overrated but jury is still out on hat one.

I have 2 of the 4 built but want to water test before I continue.

Worked like a charm as far as holding rods and same feel as in the big boat. Now to slow this thing down. 12-15mph winds. Forgot my drift sock, crappie nibbles, and slab sauce. Made for a tough trip of trying to get a fish on.

I want to make 2 more so I can push jigs with 4. May even entertain twisting them around a little more and pulling if the wind is going to be that stout.

Seems here lately we’ve had to fight the wind almost every trip. Nice setup, glad they worked. Any more opinions on the H-rail?

H-rails, my personal opinion only. Not bashing.
I like gear tracks better. As most everything on the market has went to some kind of track even on bigger boats, there are many more accessories available for track. Using the h-rail requires the specific octagonal mount to be secure to rail and then most of those has a t-slot to use a track type accessory.
I suppose the h rail allows it to be raised up a couple of inches to accept the steering handle on each side. In doing this and with steering handle on top of it you can not haul or store the kayak upside down as it would damage.
The rest of yak is very good as far as stability and fish ability.
