    That’s what I do too. Truck bed extender. But my kayak is the 10.5’ one.

    I welded up a tall bed extender to carry the canoes. It worked pretty well.

    Got a ladder rack from Harbor Freight and it fit my 5x10 trailer perfectly. Purchased cradles from Amazon. Also built a rack for hauling them in the toy hauler. Name:  kayak trailer.jpg

    These were $65 when I put them on my truck 11 years ago. Instead of using the setscrews that came with it I made eyebolts with 3/4"x 10mm bolts and links from chain.
