Cost too much. I’m in process of building one out of pvc.
Testing with wife’s little one to get final fitment before glueing.

Looks like a nice setup. Like SD, I just don’t have the lifting strength anymore. For me I think a truck bed would be the best bet. Maybe next vehicle...

Look into a Hullavator and a Thule or Yakima rack. The Hullavator makes getting the kayak on top a lot easier.

That hullavator looks slick but at 700 dollhairs, Ima have to keep hitting the gym and get this old back in shape to get the bigrig up there!

Just had this Yakima rack installed. The FeelFree Lure 11.5 will go in the bed and the Kaku Wahoo 10.5 will go on top. The guy who installed it (No Limits in Baltimore) did a great job mounting the Bazuka Pro for the rods.

Toyota Tacoma with a T-Bone bed extender is how I get my W.S. Pungo 120 to the water. I use a C Tug to transport the kayak if I can't offload it close to the water.

    A few updates

Built bed rack out of left over 2in pvc schedule 40 from a previous electric project. Have $67 tied up in fittings and 2 xtra joints of pipe that I’m using for an easy loader.

As seen on my rack, there’s and open end fitting at top of each corner. I used a 60* elbow and a length of pipe to use as a slide to get it on top. Also keeps from hitting paint on truck. When loaded just pull them off and keep with truck for unloading/reload

Very creative. Seems like it would work great.

I know this is an old thread but figured I’d update where I am today.
The pvc rack was pretty good. I traded the Jackson big rig for a Hobie pa 14. Coming in just at 140lbs it folded the pvc rack under a busy stoplight in the city. Bummer!

In the year since my original post not only did I change kayaks but also lifted my truck.

I revert to two sayings before you see my new set up.
    1) Ray Stevens - “Coy, how’d you get that Harley up on the high dive?”
    2) if you gonna be dumb, you better be tough.

I load my Titan 12 into the bed of my Dodge Ram with a bed extender. Put a Thule rack on the truck when I had the Nucanoe Frontier but it was too high to load easily so went with the bed extender and haven't had any issues.
