I found a 15 pound mushroom anchor for cheap at a garage sale so that's what I use. It's overkill for a kayak.

There are two anchor trolleys on on my rig. I use one for the anchor and the other for a drift sock. It helps keep me straight in the wind but if a catfish eats one of my jigs it almost always ends up in my anchor line or my drift sock lol.

4 to 6 lb window weight will work fine and the price is right if you have one laying aorund.

I used 1.5-pound an anchor to tie onto an 18-foot foam Aqua Lily Pad to keep it from floating downstream in the river/lake behind our house. The river has a slow-moving current so the anchor didn't need to be that big and this Danielson Galv river anchor worked perfectly. hooks onto rocks and also works as a free weight in deep water to help keep me from drifting.

depending on the size of the kayak: I have a cheaper sit on top that i use a 2.5 lb claw with and my predator pdl fully loaded with me in it (looking at 400 total) i use a 6 lb claw. Make sure to make a break away... prior to making one i had to cut my anchor to not roll over in some fast moving water.

I dug up a couple of 5lb window weights landscaping the backyard a few years ago. After a good cleaning I put a couple of coats of rubber paint on them. They work perfect.

The 1.5-pound anchor is fitting for calmer waters and smaller watercraft and it is definitely worth a try. A small river anchor can be easy to use and can help maintain your peace of mind when you want to have a relaxing day on the lake.

I use a 5 lb folding grapnel anchor and if rigged right haven't had any issues.

i use a 4-5# window weight. Cleaned it up with a brush and grinder then Plasti-Dipped it a few times. I use it on the Yakattack anchor trolley.
