    Default Long trips


    Another question for you experienced yakers. The last three trips I’ve fished7-8 hours. My legs don’t bother me at all until I get back and get out. I’ve fell a couple of times because when I go to stand my feet and legs are like jello. Some places there’s nowhere to take a break and walk. Do y’all have any suggestions??Or am I just old and gonnahave to live with it?

    If you can’t stand in your kayak I would suggest looking into one you can. All the difference in the world when I switched to my new kayak. Before 4-5 hrs all I could stand before my sciatic nerve was screaming at me. Now I can fish all day. The seating is more comfortable and raised up, I can stand and move more which makes all the difference and enjoy it so much more.

    Pull over to the shore every hour and take a few minutes break walking or get kayak you can stand up in. About the only choices.

    Drink a lot more water. Guarantee you will be standing up more to take breaks.
