If you didn't get your battery figured out. The easiest is a deer feeder battery.

Hey Damion!
Did you ever purchase the Striker for your kayak? If so, how has it worked out for you. I have an old Lowrance on my Jackson that works ok, but got a new kayak and thinking about some newer technology. Besides, don’t want to mess with moving the finder back and forth.
Thanks!
Might add Ive only used it on4 trips so far.

Thanks Damion! I went to Bass Pro to look at it in person and was really impressed. I was ready to pull the trigger…..then I looked at the 5 . I liked the slightly larger screen and it appeared the resolution was better. Not so sure I really want the larger size as it’s cramped on the kayak already. Drove home without a purchase to think it over. Again, thanks for the input and I’ll let you know which one I pick up.
I kinda wish I had gotten the 5. But like you said I’m cramped already. And at the time I’d already spent a lot on other fishing stuff and the wife had me on a budget. Lol. Good luck and hope you like whichever you decide on.

I have a 93sv on my kayak as well as livescope now. I was so worried it was going to be big and certain times it seems so but you hardly ever hear someone say “wish I had bought smaller screen size”.....lol
Thanks for the input, Dave. I have a Lowrance Elite5 HDI, I got from from Brian @ BBG Marine years ago. It still works, but it’s a little long in the tooth and obviously not as performance oriented as the new units. It’s manageable size-wise , especially since I have it mounted on the Cuba’s center hatch. In any event, I purchased a Hobie in the early spring to make my salt trips a little easier, (wind and current, coupled with a 67 year old power drive, gets a little old at the end of the day!) That finder gets mounted on the side rail and it’s a little awkward yet. Moving them back and forth is also a pain, so a second unit makes sense. While the majority of my fishing is salt water, I keep being drawn back to these scrappy little fish called crappie! Seems like a pretty good deal to have a rig for fresh and salt!! Fortunately, my bride is quite supportive.
Oh well, I’ll sleep on it and make up my mind.
Now to decide on a jig pole, LOL!
That’s my problem. There’s always something. Lol. My wife doesn’t mind, but I’d went through a stretch of bad luck,or as she says not paying attention and had broke 2 10 ft jigging rods and 2 casting rods within a 2 week period. Lol. A 4 is better than nothing and I can’t fish period without rods,so I got the 4 and new rods so everyone was happy. Lol
