I have a 14 footer, 1978. Thinking mine is allowed a 35 hp. Only run a 10 on it. They were made by MFG. Put plywood on the floor, as they are hard to walk on otherwise. They made them in 12, 14, and 16 footers. They are a a tri-haul design. I enjoy mine. They were made to use short shaft motors. But you can add to the back, to be able to use a long shaft, like I did. Sorry, don't have pictures.

Forgot to mention, that if a big wake comes from behind the boat, be prepared to bail water. because of the low transom. Once I added to it, never had another problem.

Thank you for the reply. I have only seen his boat once i'm thinking it's a 12 footer but not positive. I know it was very clean and he is second owner. I will have to get more info from him. He is considering selling is as he wants to get a wake board boat. I was thinking it would be a good first boat for myself, I would like to maybe build a casting deck in the front and a trolling motor up front. Thank you for all the info.

Look online, and see if you can find a picture of the boat. Mine has a walk thru section, in front of the rear bench, with a compartment on either side, then open floor, then step up in the front, maybe 2 1/2 feet. Suppose you could go one top adding a deck, so that you can mount a trolling motor.

Didn't know until now, that the Sears Gamefishers were made in three types, john boat, tri-hull, and a v hull. So it probably depends on which type as to how much horse power, you can put on it. From pictures of boats for sale, am seeing both fiberglass and metal boats.

This is what my boat looks like. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/8b/71...9e02b6d72f.jpg

Sears Gamefisher Models Go to this site for info on them. A 12 will only handle a 10 hp.

Went to look at the boat yesterday, it is a 1980 14" fiberglass tri hull. the front section is a flat platform with a storage compartment in the middle end of it has a baitholder or ice chest area with a drain. back bench has two seats. he has a 9.9 hp johnson with it and a tiller steer trolling motor. it does have a what looks to be a homebuilt trailer. he is asking 2000.00 seems kinda high going to try to find some for sale on line to compare.

$1000 is a more reasonable price. Lot depends on condition of outboard. That's where your biggest cost is

Yes, that sounds too high. And guessing the Johnson is a two stroke, which isn't worth much anymore, but are good motors. They also made a 16 footer, that you could look for. Mine is a 78, and I only gave $350, with a 9.9 Johnson, and trailer back 20 years ago. No electronics or trolling motor though. Your's is exactly like mine.

That is more along the lines of what I was thinking. He said he paid 1500 for it 2 years ago the paid 500 for the johnson last December. he said he's used the motor twice and it ran good. just a bit steep at 2000

I only added plywood with 2x bracing. In front of the storage boxes, and in floor in front of rear bench, and behind rear bench, where I keep the battery, gas tank, and an anchor, and carpeted it. But you could put an upper deck, in the front, and then be able to mount a trolling motor up there. But I just have my trolling motor in the back, along with my Honda motor and gas tank.
