That is a stout price tag.

Very nice, but I don't see my old decrepit butt in one. For that price I can find a decent previously loved boat. JMO

Nice, very nice, but $4,600 is good used bass/crappie boat territory. For this price, you can buy 4 very decent kayaks. Count them...4 kayaks. For 1/4 of the price, I would buy the new Pelican Catch Power 100. This kayak is rigged up to accept a trolling motor or if you want a 2.5 HP motor as well. Why spend all that money on a Hobie to pedal, when I can just reach back to turn a handle and go.
Hobie is going to price themselves out of the mainstream market and catered to an elite crowd soon. Nothing wrong with that until you go out of business. Other kayak manufacturers are not sitting on their behind either. Every year, they come out with better and better kayaks at a much more reasonable price than a Hobie. I've been researching kayaks since I'll be in the market to upgrade mine soon. For less than a $1,000, there are some really, really nice kayaks out there.

Agreed, you can get a good used boat in that price range.

Big price tag for sure. A lot of peddle boats can be had for a lot less money

Well the thing is you can throw this in the back of your truck and take home. No taxes, no trailer, no maintenance. It’s still extremely high but when you look at the big picture maybe a little easier to consider.... used in a couple years....

Bought a fishing kayak two years ago. Rigged it out including side imaging. Could not fall in love with it.
