I have the same boat (I think) bought at Dick's sporting goods, Field and Stream 10 ft. I am missing the rear boat plug. Do you know the size of the hole. I believe what I need is a 3/4 inch plug. Also what type of plug is in your boat? Thanks for your help. Pop
Having owned my bass hunter since 1988, retired it in 2013, I have since dusted it off 2019.I just finished a DIY skeg ,mounted on the stern,it has the ability to lift up if anything bumps it,and drop back down once over the object.I can also swing it via rope from my seat. Its made from aluminum,so it is very light weight.
How has your Bass Hunter held up over the years? That boat is almost identical to a bunch of others made by/brand named by several manufactures. From what I've been reading the Bass Hunter 120 and Pelican 10E are the most popular and best made. What do you think?
There's a ton of real cool modifications for these type boats! Working on the mods might be fun too...what can I dream up...? :scratchhead
I also welcome everyone who has had and fished from this type of boat to comment! Please !!
I left out the Twin Troller x10, even though it looks similar on top...it is a different critter as a whole. I really like them but, I may go with something at half the price (or less) till I see if I like and am comfy in a small boat like this. I've never had this type before. I would "Pimp My Ride" with stuff I could change over as much as possible to a Twin Troller if I ever want to go that way.
Considering my bass hunter is over 30 years old,and still in use,I cannot complain. The old bass hunters were two piece, with a seam, this has been the only place of any degrading.A couple years ago In another post of mine,I explain how I cleaned out the seal, and applied flex seal, after two seasons, the seal has held up beautifully.
I’m sure the more modern similar boats have improved since 1988, that alone should convince anyone thinking about buying one,to have full confidence of years of productive use.
