Default Kayak and vertically Jig laydown

While Kayak fishing my favorite reservoir I time an intraday Minor.Period near dusk during the three days of the New Moon (Major intra Month). Stealthily from the kayak I Vertically jig a laydown extending from bank to 9-‘foot of water.
I work my way thru the small fishes till the Minor.Period kicks in with near back to back jumbo perches one of them stretching the scale to the 14” class. My Personal Best.!!

That was a good perch, congrats. We have some that is in the class range and some bigger. Love finding a school of them while fishing from the kayak

I’ve heard yellow perch are better tasting than crappie. Is that true?
