Had a couple ideas on this yak that seemed to work out pretty good, just haven't got to try it yet. Removed the backrest completely and that gave me two nice bungee anchor points on the front of the seat, plus I still ran a bungee from the back of the seat to the rear anchor point which made the seat real solid, also cleaned it up behind the seat for a small bag with the shoulder strap around to the seat. Found a Wally world tool pouch that fit perfect under the lid bungees ( with a little trimming ), get my anchor trolley rigged up and I think it's good to go.Attachment 329954Attachment 329955
Looking good. It’s fun just customizing. I keep a waterproof case where your tool pouch is and put whatever I don’t want wet in it. My clippers and hemostats are on or in my pfd for quick access. I bet your so excited to go try it. Awesome. :ThumbsUp:HandsClapping
Cool!!Things have been crazy at work plus some honey do projects so I haven’t had a chance to do anything to mine. But hope to get started next week. I think the first thing is the seat. I don’t think I could handle the original very long. I’m not as young as I once was. Lol

What about the paddle?Ive heard I need a different one than the one that came with it.

I would say it depends on what came with yours and what you want. My wife’s paddle that came with hers is good. A nice paddle. The one that came with mine was junk. It filled with water the first time out! Had mine been like my wife’s I would have still had it. I bought a new one. There are cheap ones to be had but I splurged a little on my pfd and paddle and purchased nice. My paddle is totally adjustable.
Yeah I bought a chinook fd. Really think I’m gonna like it.

Yeah I have the NRS Chinook as well. Good pfd. I hook some clippers to the little leash, very convenient. Keep a hemostat in pocket. Clip a knife on the holder. I think you will like that pfd as well.
