I've waded in 40 degree trout streams. You just have to wrap up, same as any other type of fishing.

Assuming you have a Tractor Supply Company in your area, check out their, kayaks, paddle boats, and they have what I think are inflatable pontoons.
Cool thanks S10chevy, Yes we have a tractor supply, well the next little town down from us has one but it's not too far..Prolly get down there right after Christmas...
The 8-10' bass tracker plastic pontoon style boat would probably be your best bet.I've lost a bit of weight, but once weighed 255,me and the son and Lloyd our ger, including battery and trolling motor did just fine int it.I currently have mine set up for trapping and catfishing, very stable.
Have you tried looking for a used 10' jon boat? They are relatively light and can be loaded in the back of a pick up truck.

Dont let your weight discourage you. My father-in-law (for now) is 6' and 300lbs + and uses a sit in. This is his bigger one. Hes also got an 8ft sit in he uses. Also a pic of me in the same yak, Im 5'8" and just under 200lbs. Just food for thought
Thank you for the encouragement INDyak. I am doing what I can on losing weight, just not so easy..
A yak would be easier for where all I want to fish as I wouldn't need to fight bushes to get to a couple of the places I want to get to. Low water and tangled wood across in a couple of places. I think I'll give it a go anyway, we will just have to see what happens. If it don't work out, sell the yak and get the bass raider. I have my 14 foot aluminum on the trailer for bigger water and will have it ready by the begging of the year...Thanks again. Eric.

glad I could be of some help. Was in the process of getting permission for this pic of another member in his sit-on top. Hes prolly 5 6 or 5 7 and 200. He absolutely loves his.
Now another thought, the blue ones are future beach brand not sure on model 10 1/2 ft long. The green ones, sit in or sit on were right at 200$ each with paddles. Which I assume would fit your budget the best...again just opinions. Hope it helps

Sit in and sit on sun dolphins. Under 250 each
Apparently I dont have a pic of me in my own yak. Only it of itself, could be bc I fish alone alot. Have lots of setup pics too if you wanna see.
Sure, yes sir. Any you want to share. Yep the green one will fit the bill nicely. Still take me a couple of months to get it, but yep, that's what I'm looking for...
