    Default What's your canoe?

I thought I'd start a thread for us canoe people. Lets hear and or see what you got.

Mine is a Clipper MacSport 18 red fiberglass with wood trim. I run a 4 HP Evinrude and haul it on a trailer

    Pros: 18 feet long

    40 inches wide

    very stable

Can fish 3 people out of it

    Cons: Heavy 105 lbs

Have to haul it on a trailer

    Old Town Discovery Stillwater

Very stable, I fly fish standing in it with no stability issues

    Fishes 2 comfortably

Bought this boat new in the early 90's, I had to replace the seats recently, all parts are available

I have no cons for this boat

30 odd some year old 17' Grumman. Good for two - too heavy for me anymore to put up on the roof of the truck so it goes on the utility trailer.

I can only speak of those I have owned. Due to mobility issues and lack of interest from the grandkids, I have sold mine. If I fell out and could not touch bottom, I couldn't get back in and I live in Gator country. It was a 15' Grumman and it did everything I remember them doing from my younger days. Flat bottom, moderate weight and added a transom for a TM. Moved well with a 35 lb thrust. Carried it in the P/U mostly but did have a jet ski trailer for it, but had to get wet loading it up. I stayed dry when carrying it in the P/U. Stood and fly fished. With my bad knees and back that speaks for it's stability. Miss it but all good things come to an end.
