Default In the Yak Yesterday (video)

I took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday and headed about an hour south to one of my favorite crappie and bluegill lakes. The bite wasn't amazing, but it was good enough to keep me interested. Plus I managed to get some good underwater footage of crappies. Some of the underwater footage is a bit slow, but if you stay with it you will see quite a few fish in the back ground, at the top of the screen, and to the sides as well. Also, judging by some of the fins that are visible swimming by, I don't think all the fish were crappies. Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy it. Good luck, be safe, and happy fishing.

Slabsrus...nice job. Hope you don't mind me asking are you using a Go-Pro Camera for the video above and below the water? Also what do you have the camera mounted on and how deep were you filming the fish? Great video.

    Thanks,
    Flintcreek

flintcreek,,,,I do not use a Go-Pro for anything. My above water footage is done with a Nikon CoolPix. I have been using CoolPix for many years now and have had great success with them. They get a lot of use and last for quite some time for a very reasonable price. This particular one is the CoolPix L820, a great little camera. I use it mounted on a tripod in the kayak. The underwater footage is done with Vivitar ??? I don't remember the model. I have only been using it a month or so, so I am still learning. The underwater footage in this video was in water 12 feet deep with the camera about 3 feet from the bottom. I use a telescoping paint roller poll to attach the camera for the underwater viewing. I just stick it down in random places that I am pretty sure are holding fish and every once in a while I get lucky with some good footage. This one really surprised me when I got home yesterday and was able to view it. I knew they were down there but it sure was cool seeing them on the video. Thanks again for watching and the kind words.

Thanks Slabsrus...I appreciate you taking the time to make the video and post it and tell me a little about the equipment you are using. I actually have a Nikon Coolpix and they are great little cameras. Looks like I need to get mine out and use it some.
