This in Bossier City? Been to Barksdale a few times on business back in the 90s. Stationed at Carswell AFB - another B52 base now closed - we traded parts all the time. Most of the time we met halfway in Tyler Texas.

I've fished around large numbers of gators with a canoe without issue. With that being said I believe if you fish areas where gators have minimal close contact with humans they tend to move well out of your way. But in areas where people might be feeding them, antagonizing them or during mating season, fishing from paddle boards or kayaks, as always, should be done with caution. Only because of the lower profile to the water. In the '60's & 70's we used to wade fish a lot, in lakes with large gator populations without incident, but gators were less used to people back then. We had more trouble with cottonmouths swallowing the fish on our stringer or following us to trying to. Just like with sharks attacking these vessels, the incidents are rare, but I've heard of close calls by both predators on yaks and paddle boards.
I was looking back and found this thread. Y’all got me kinda nervous. I’ll be fishing the same areas as flint creek and there are several around. I’ve encountered a couple bank fishing and they pretty much got away and let me have it. But a little nervous about being on the water with them. I also hate snakes. Maybe I should have took another route to get on the water. Lol
