I have a Sun Dolphin Journey 12. I had planned to buy a different rig but my step brother was in a bind and has a hard time getting out for things like that, his Parkinson's has put an end to many things he used to do. I am in my second year with it and I am enjoying it.

Sounds like you have a good setup going with your kayak. I fish all three of those lakes you listed and you will enjoy catching fish on all of them but Greenwood is the better crappie lake. Cunningham is a hit and miss lake but does have a few good crappie in it. Robinson I have not fished enough to give any good info about. You have two more good permit lakes in Inman and Cooley and I also fish Rabon which is a permit lake and Boyd's Mill pond, no permit required and they just installed a new ramp and it is the only ramp the public can us. Rabon has good fishing all around, the crappie isn't real big in numbers but it holds some good bream and shellcrackers if you do any flyrod fishing. Boyd's Mill I have fished all my fishing life (above 45 years) and it has a mix with the best being catfish & bream. It has some bass and crappie but not in numbers or size but it is a small lake on the Reedy River.

I fish out of a Ride 115 painted with permit decals so if you see me on any of the lake come by and say hello. It is good to have you join us in kayak fishing and stop in on the South Carolina forum, you will enjoy it.

Just saw your post - great information, and I will look you up! I may have waved at you on Cunningham a couple of Saturdays ago. There was a guy in a blue kayak coming back toward the dock when I was headed toward the power lines.

I realize that this is a late reply to your post. I have an Eagle talon, too. I love it. I plugged the scupper wholes under my seat to keep my butt dry, and replaced the seat. Added a depth/fish finder and put a cooler in the back. Made a longer anchor trolly and made a stake out pole love the boat. Very stable. Not the fastest, not the most agile, not the lightest, not the cheapest...but it is great for my puposes. I just hope I don't get run over by a jet ski!

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Barry I fish out of a custom 115 Ride. Most of the time I'll have 6 to 8 rods with me so I'm easy to spot.
