    Default looking for a Kayak

I was going to get a kayak for fishing last year, but needed to get a pain pump installed and that had me laid up all summer and most of the fall .. So I am looking for one this year just want to get some Ideas ,Looked at the Ascend FS128T ,also check out the Nucanoe Frontier , . so any feedback good or bad on the two I have seen ..and if someone knows of any other brand to look at ... Thanks

I just purchased the Ascend 128t haven't fished out of it yet but as soon as the weather turns we're going, you can Pm Ncnat and he can tell you how they handle he has had one for a year now, or maybe he will chime in.

Wilderness Ride 135 or 115 are worth looking at.

I have a Native Manta Ray 12'. The most comfy seat guaranteed.

I just got my Coosa HD in last week. Important things to me were: How easy is the thing to sit in.... How easy is it to stand up in.
I sat in a bunch of different ones for several months. Waited for months to try the HD, was sold 5 minutes after testing it out. I can sleep in the seat, and not only can you stand in the thing, you can actually turn around! I love it. Pricy..? Yep. I looked at lesser price kayaks, then calculated getting them to where i wanted them with accessories, guess what... ended up the same price! Take one for a test paddle..... they are awsome!

I'm lookin' too! I really like the Feel Free Lure 11.5. I thought I wanted the NuCanoe Frontier, 'till I saw the stories of decks cracking!
I think I like the look of the Lure 11.5 better. I sure like the gravity seat!

    Kind Regards,

The best decision making tool I can offer is to go out and test, test and most importantly test. Sit in the yak and see if everything is where you want it. Is there enough room, the kayak stable enough for you, how much gear will you take with you? What kind of water will you be riding on, ocean, big or small lakes, are rivers in your future? The best way to figure out your yak style is to test them out. I have heard alot of good about the ascend, it is also on the heavy side of yaks, but then again so is the nucanoe. From what I have heard, both are very stable, i considered the nucanoe myself mostly for its capabilities as a two person or one person and a dog boat. This is a bit repetitive but the best advice I can give is to test em both out and see what you like about em and dont like.

I have several kayaks, and recently sold A WS Ride 135. Not that anything was wrong with it, I just used my Jackson Cuda 14 more than anything. This spring I will be getting the new Jackson Kraken for offshore and bigger lake fishing.. I cant say enough about Jackson kayaks...love them!

I cant give you any advice because I dont own a kayak yet but I think Im gonna get the Ascend sometime this spring.

Ive heard theyre on the heavy side but I can live with that. My biggest deal is stability and price but I also like the layout in that one.
