    Default Caught a few 4-12-14

Our kayak club met on Lake Greenwood SC yesterday for some crappie fishing. We had a lot of rain last weekend and it turned the lake muddy with a lot of trash and debris floating around but we were still able to catch some nice crappie. Most of us stayed in the 16 to 10' range but a few did go to the shallow water and caught them with a float and jig setup. The guys had a good time fishing for crappie as most of them are bass fisherman that has never tied crappie fishing so I tied my best to help everyone out. Few pics of the day.

This is my friend Bill and his Hobie setup.

Looks like good rides and good times.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Nice stringer there! Looks like a blast. Wish we had more kayak anglers up here, but I've seen more and more lately!

Thanks guys. It is a lot of fun to get a group together and hit the lakes. We all fished close by each other with us fishing a busy lake so we could look out for each other. Is was fun seeing the fish caught and the enjoyment that catching the crappie gave. We have 20 to 25 members in our club so we would fill a parking lot if we were all able to come to one event.

Looks awesome! Wish my area had a yak fishing club like that; closest thing I've seen is a group of idiots who are itching to run under one of the barges one of these days!
