Thread: Hillsdale Friday 5/6

Hit the crappie from the bank, about 10 feet out, near brush. We stayed about 3 hours until the fish bite just stopped. Caught about 15 fish. 6 keepers. 2 eleven inch fish and a 12 inch fish. Crappie are finally getting larger at Hillsdale. Wind was 5-10 mph out of the Northwest. We were fishing on the East bank. They bite seemed best on the purple jig with a chartreuse tail. All fish were males. Water surface temp was around 60.

In Northeast Kansas, for the next couple weeks, I'll leave the boat in storage and fish the spawn from the banks. I saw several boats and I appeared to be doing much better from the bank
