    Default Hillsdale 8/25 fishing report

    Hi,
Long time lurker. Several time poster.

We started off dipping trees around the corner of the Maryville boat ramp by the water intake structure. Picked off a handful here and there, but the keeper to short ratio was 4:1. After a couple hours there, we decided to move across (west) to where those mess of trees are. The bite was better and we got onto some better fish. The crappies were deep between the tree branches, and you also had to move around a lot. Covering as much water and trees as you can was the key. If they're there, they'll hit it right away. We did circle back to and caught some off the same tree. Couldn't tell if they were already there or replenished after leaving it alone for an hour or so. We ended up with 28 between 10-11.5". Nothing big hopefully helpful for others on this page.

    Time: 8am-1pm
    Location: Tuggle Branch
    Weather: 95deg and sunny
    Water Temp: 82deg
    Water Depth: 16-20ft
    Depth fish holding at: 10ft
Technique: Dipping jigs or minnows with a 10ft dippin rod
Lure: Minnows and Slab Buster white/silver jigs. Red and silver worked too.
