    Default Gardner Lake 5-18-20

Cold and Windy, about tired of it. Went out in the morning just cause I could and didn't want to sit at home. Water temp was 63-65. I thought it would have been warmer. Caught fish in 4-12 FOW, mix of males and females, about 15 total caught, cleaned 6 of the biggest, scaled and fried whole for supper. The Bass were on though. Caught several 15-18",and shorts. Lost one at the boat I would have like to have weighed, over 5lbs, snapped the line with one last run at the boat. Nice fight on light tackle! All fish caught and lost on Road Runners, working it slow. A good morning really, just sick of the weather.

Have the crappie spawned at Gardner Lake? Haven't fished it for a week or so. Always some pretty black crappie in that lake.

I don't think so. Yes, the crappie are pretty and black, all of the fish in that lake are well colored and pretty to look at.
