Default Kansas 2019 Spring Crappie camp

We will be having a Spring Crappie Camp at Eldorado lake April 12-14 2019. We will post more details in the near future. There are 3 bed cabins available online. Eldorado is known for its big crappie, walleye and wipers. It also has a great population of small mouth and Blue cats. We have several people that can show you around the lake if you are new to it. It is a hard bottom lake with lots of standing timber old submerged lakes, ponds and farms. It is fed by multiple creeks and the walnut river that are all really good during the spawn. There is also an old railroad bed that runs from the southeast corner of the dam to the upper northwest end of the lake.
Caution don't show up with 2 lb line unless you want a good fish to break it off on a stump or limb. The water from the dam to mid lake is fairly clear to stained to murky farther north and in the creeks. Family and friends are welcome and will have a great time. Make sure to mark the dates on your calendar and hope to see you there.

Looking forward to it! Looking forward to making some new friends once again, and learn some new techniques.

Fished Eldorado yesterday and had 4 fish that went from 1.8 to 2.1 lb and the eggs are just starting to form. Not unusual to catch crappie over 2 lb during March and April pre spawn.

Fished Eldorado again till 1 today and took home 15 nice crappie from 11" to 14" all in brush about 16 FOW. Water temp was 40 all fish on orange and yellow 2" slab slayer with 1/8th oz chartreuse head. Dead sticking down in the brush. Slow but steady bite tried several other colors but the orange and yellow was what they wanted. Not finding large schools just scattered in the brush.

Dang! You guys got a menu and everything!
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.

Is it when you get old enough and that you loose enough teeth you no longer can pronounce THUMP, and have to switch to BUMP?
