Thanks for the detailed report. That's a good day yak. Weather is cooling and the crappie fever is heating up !
It's about time I caught some fish! Mainly been using the boat for family stuff, but with the cool water and air temps, it's fishing time for me!
Caught several really quickly yesterday as soon as the jig hit their depth! Thump, thump, thump! Unfortunately, as fast as the bite started, it stopped just as quickly.
20 FOW
Holding around 14 FOW
Chartreuse jig
Forgot to check water temp, sorry.
Threw all of them back as they weren't too impressive. The biggest, nicest one that I would have kept snapped the line right at the surface. Ugh. Still, fun times, and glad I can contribute a little bit of a report since I certainly do my fair share of reading here.

Glad to hear ya got into some fish Yack! What kind of boat did you end up getting?
Thanks, guys!
Got a Chaparral H2O 19 Ski & Fish. Really liking it! ....but still wish I had a dedicated fishing boat, lol. We went with a more family friendly boat, but still has a livewell, cheap trolling motor, and fish finder...I spent a bit more and had a Gen 3 Lowrance installed on it.
Finally got my battery charger! It came in the mail today. I haven't really used the TM much because I don't have a way to charge the battery. Now that the winds aren't insane, I'm planning on using it more since I'll have means to charge it!
Yak, what ever floats your boat! Glad you found a compromise for you and your family...... Sounds like you have the best of boat worlds, get you on the water that much more.

There's not anyone boat better than another really, just the one that meets your needs. Just keep a fishing rod hidden some where on the boat at all times, you never know when you are out doing the family thing and opportunity strikes when you can drop a line.
Yep, I tend to keep one or two onboard! However, one thing I really need to do is get more tackle. I have a lone bag that holds most of my stuff, which means the bag goes into the boat, or kayak, or truck and to the family pond. I've been caught on the boat with a pole and no tackle, or at home wanting to take the kayak to the pond and all my stuff's on the boat!
