    Default QUIVIRA 4/27

Wife and brother in law caught 6 crappies and about as many largemouths. best luck was on slab hammer crankbaits (blue/chartreuse) and road runners (black/chartreuse) 5-8' along banks. Fish seemed to be in scattered roaming schools. Water temp upper 50's, pretty clear. Kept the crappies, released the bass.

When growing up fished this lake for years. One of my favorite lakes. You can catch crappie in the big cove all year long. About 50 yards out from the gravel boat ramp and about 20 yards to the East. Old creek bed that comes up to a 6-8 foot flat. I've caught good numbers of crappie there in August with temps near 100. Of course, you can always cast jigs around the swim beach doc at the deepest point. I've caught crappie there when the ice hasn't completely melted

I still rank Lake Quivira as the best bass fishing in Kansas. No other lake is even close
