Default Need info on a location

Thinking of moving to Kansas or MO. One place we are looking at is on a body of water that looks to have more than one name.

On Google Earth I see Spring River into Lowell Reservoir into Shoal Creek...?

How far can you navigate with an average 16-20 ft. bass boat ?

Is that area any good fishing...crappie, bass, catfish...?

    Thanks

P.S. I have no knowledge of the area ( or eastern Kansas lakes other than Clinton by Lawrence) . We are searching Zillow, Realtor.com, and Google Earth till spring so it's hard to get much info. We live on the Mexican border in south Texas, a golf cart ride to the Rio Grande River!

Looking most anywhere along eastern KS south of I70. Found a couple of places around Fort Scott also, but this one is on the water and I could fish off the deck (with a cold one ) if I wanted to.

No we haven't...it's about 75 miles west of where we want. Thanks for the idea.

Try this. All kinds of detailed Kansas lake and fishing information. You may have to cut and paste the link into your browser. I don't see a way, in the reply, to add a link

Hi Gator I live down here on the Spring River side and its decent fishing occasionally once in awhile. Where Spring and Shoal Creek meet is called empire lake. Its an old lake built early 1900s so most of its silted in so we fish the river and the creek. Can find 25' deep water on the river side. Hazardous running if you dont know where to run but there are a lot of guys bass fish it too. Have a little jackpot on Wednesday nights in the summer thats fun to fish. We are 45ish minutes from grand lake in Oklahoma so we fish that a lot too. All in all its not a bad place to hang your hat.
