    Default Perry - 2/22

Can't believe how good the bite was today, considering it is February, and the water is so low. I was fishing from the bank and probably caught a dozen keepers - some in the 12-13" range. Just used a small shad minnow wannabe jig about 5' under a float. Too bad I had to do the catch and release thing today - woulda had a nice stinky skillet by now! Lol

Nice day eeker!Kept 27 Sunday from the bank at John Redmond Sunday. Had a couple days at Perry many years ago end of February where we slayed em 6-7' under bobber. Noticed almost all of them had what looked like dark algae in their mouths. Figured there must have been some kind of larve hatch going on they were eating off the rocks?

I haven't heard much about John Redmond, but I might have to check it out one of these days. I didn't notice anything in their mouth, but I plan to hit Perry again in the morning, so I'll look closer. Might even keep a few this time if the luck holds on.

This was off of a small little rock jetti at the end of the launch ramp behind the park office. It's one of my favorite spots because fishing is decent, and I can be there in 10 minutes from my house.
