Default Clinton - the storms the boats and the bite report*

Spent a little time this weekend at Clinton fighting the boats but boy was it worth it. After a lady chewing us out at the dock for touching their slip when we stepped up to buy minnows a buddy and I head out with his daughter to do some crappie fishing. (Boy those people on the east side of the marina are some real work)

Went out the main lake and started dipping standing timber and man it didn't take long at all to put a good pattern together. Fish really wanted a minnow 10 ft down. Catch a fish or two and move on to the next tree. Same bite we had a Hillsdale last weekend. Drop it down 10 to 12 ft if they don't hit is slow raise and repeat, many times they would about knock the rod out of your hand as you where raising up. Cleaned a limit yesterday and 40 today with most of the fish being over 12 inches. Full report on the outdoorsman with 30+ picture (link below)

I wish I would have saw your post before spending the day at Clinton chasing the eyes on the flats.
Your right about the pleasure boat traffic being heavier than normal.
Use the slips on the south side of the marina next to the minnow tank is the best place to get minnows.
The slips east of the marina with the railing on them are called patio slips cost $5000 per year so the owners of them keep everyone else away from them especially fishermen.
