    Default a Very GOOD Friday!!

Had Good Friday off, but debated about going out since we just got hit with that cold front. I was sure there wouldn't be much biting, but the lawn really needed mowing so I loaded up the boat instead

Talked a buddy into joining me at Hillsdale for the afternoon. Started marking a few scattered fish staging on the breaks in 15-18 fow. Dropped jigs down and they were just smacking it! Even the dinks were hitting it hard. Here is our bucket of 40. Ended up catching a total of 62 over 10". Might be the best crappie day i've ever had on HD.

Took my son out Saturday evening and picked up another 30 plus a bonus 18" walleye.

Glad you found them, wish I gone to HD instead of Clinton. Bring your son Thursday night and give us more details.

Grabbed Springhill Duckman and snuck out again yesterday afternoon for a few hours just to make sure the weekend wasn't a fluke. Couldn't fish the same areas as before due to the winds, so had to see if the pattern was working elsewhere. Marked lots of fish suspended about 10-12 ft down in 20-25 fow, and caught a number of them, but all small. Found all of the keepers holding to the bottom on the breaks right at 15-17 fow again just like before. I didn't mark much of anything on the sonar, but they were there. Nothing shallower and nothing deeper, 15-17 ft was the magic depth. They seemed to be staging in the deeper water off of their spawning habitat. We ended up with 37 over 10". Didn't catch as many numbers, but the keeper ratio was better.

Sam - it was great to run into you on the water again. Sorry we didn't get to chat longer. Throw up a post and let me know how you did.

PC - White/Chart and Blk/White were working the best for me. Duckman had good success on Red/Chart.

Thanks Ron. I will definitely try to make it. We will be there around 7:00 after baseball practice. Look forward to seeing you again!

I was lucky enough to just tag along and watch the show. There are not to many better than Lucky at finding slabs… He has become one heck of a fisherman over the last 10 years.
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D
