    Default Hillsdale- Mon. & tues.

Went with Lee and found some in the trees and we also found an algae bloom above the little bull bridge but the fish didn't seem to mind.We caught lots of smalls in the 12-14 ft. depth and moved below the bridge and found fish on almost every tree we tried and the algae wasn't as bad the further up the lake we went. Tues. we tried the big bull arm and found good looking water but fewer biting fish...we noticed there weren't as many shad schools as there were in the little bull so that's probably the reason for the slower fishing. We kept 8 crappies both days up to 13 1/2in. With other reports from Clinton coming in it's a safe bet to say the "summer shallow slab" pattern has started....and none too soon!Name: 20150630_070010.jpg

Good report. Sure wish I knew what tree's on Clinton were hold good #'s of fish, I fished for 5 hours this morning and caught 6(3 keepers)fish total. K-rigged brush piles last week and that was also poor, caught a few spider rigging some deep flats....no cover. Will be spider rigging in morning, if nothing else I'll get my morning coffee drank!!

I feel you. I tried on the 4th. Had 6 keepers in about 5 hours. Most places I tried were a bust. Worst day I've had on that lake in a long time.

I fished HD last week after the holiday weekend. I got on the lake just before sunrise. I caught a couple in standing trees, in about 15 fow. I went to one of my old summer favorite spots where there is submerged brush in about 8 fow. I had a ball until about 10:00am, then the bite shut off. I caught about 25-30 and had 12 keepers. It's nice to see that they're back in the summer pattern.

I need to hire a winter guide because I get skunked in the cold weather almost every time. Anyone know a good HD guide for cold weather (seriously)?

Fished last night till the rain. Horrible bite where I was. Running water today, 4 inches below the sidewalk at 4pm. Water smelled like sulfur or sewage. Did have that lake michigan cold water smell last month. Don't know whats up with that.

Any new news on Hillsdale Lake.
Someone mentioned he has been picking up some nice ones on the flats?
But it could of been a "fish story".

Fished it yesterday afternoon and evening. Tough bite. Caught most keeper crappie by the outlet. Fish were scattered. Tons of fish at bridge but just dinks. Guy died at the beach while we were fishing the dam. Sucked.
