    Default 5/10 Lebo City Lake

Had a little time this morning so hooked up the boat and hit a community lake. The lake is down several feet which made launching the boat sketchy. I was worried about backing the trailer off the concrete. Anyway fished for 2 hours and caught a 15" channel for my trouble. Eurasian milfoil makes the lake tricky to fish. I'll admit watching that bobber go down is pretty darn fun even if it wasn't a crappie. Taking the kids to hit farm ponds this afternoon. I'll report back later this evening.

Pretty epic top water bite in the first pond. Headed to #2.

So Lebo Lake had water temps right at 70. Marked very few fish. The faithful duck dog couldn't understand why we were just letting all these geese buzz the boat and not do anything about it.

Hit pond one. Pretty mossy which limited us. We had never fished this pond before. Stumbled onto a top water bite trying to skip the daughter's bobber out of the moss. Pitched a popper while my brother pitched a buzz bait and rain a jig over the top of the moss. Had some big green sunfish attack the popper.

Got bored with that and went to pond two. Got into the crappie. Probably caught 40 it was nearly every cast. Severe weather ran us off. They were nice sized. The guy wants us to keep them all, but I didn't feel like cleaning fish with nasty weather pending. Due to the lay of the land we couldn't see it till it was almost on top of us.

sounds like you had a great day, Lebo lake used to be a fun place to fish before fish and game messed with it. Now only a catfish bite

Back in the day there used to be a pretty nice wiper bite as well as big bluegill and largemouth. It says the state stocked 2000 saugeye in there but I marked very few fish. Seems like when the milfoil showed up the fishing went to heck.
