Sounds like a great time!! Milford is the same way with the week days looking like the weekends as far as crowds go! ... and you don't dare net a fish or you will be over run with boats n minutes!!!
Went over to Kanop yesterday, put on 7am. I was really surprised how many boats were on the lake. Then, around noonish I was even more surprised with the South side ramps parking lot looking full. There were a lot of people out there yesterday enjoying some cooler weather, I guess. Buzzard Bay and Venango's ramps are pretty much unusable as ramps anymore. I did watch a guy who used BB to launch wade back into the cove and ramp pulling his boat. I also watched a handful of boaters try to use Venango's ramp, only one got off and they waded to their waists to take off and load. I'm hoping with this low water KDWP----T will repair the ramp. If you've ever used it you know what I mean.
The fishing, the attractors and around them were covered up with boats if you can believe that. So I started mid-lake around the channel and humps. Fishing was tough at best for the crappies and saugys. The whites, wipers and catfish were hot though, pounding my jigs into submission. I had some really nice channels for Kanop, 5 of them 8-12#'s. I worked hard for a couple handfuls of crappie, but the quality was good. I think the new biologist is going to be surprised this fall with his netting. I remember Tommy posting "you guys took a lot of fish out" concerning the saugys, I think that will apply here again this year. Nice day on the water, when I got home around dark and charged my batts they didn't take to long at all for an "all-dayer", maybe 90mins to recharge. One thing for sure, those whites at Kanop sure do breed. It's a good place to take the kids for some action between the whites and catfish. Have fun and tear 'em up, I did.

"I envy not him that eats better meat than I do; nor him that is richer, or that wears better clothes than I do; I envy him, and him only, that catches more fish than I do."
Izaak Walton, 1653
Hey, that looks like a good place over there. Why? Cause he has his net out! I like it in the early fall over there when the gulls are around. There's people who go out and feed bread to the gulls. They'll have 1000's hovering around their boats and other fisherman will smoke a trail over to them in anticipation only to find out that they've been had.

Not much boat traffic at Pomona yesterday, three fising boats, two were catfishing at the bouy, dropping sour grain. One other was fishing the trees in 110 mile arm. That where I and a friend fished most of the day, early morning bite, drop off at nine o`clock, had to work hard to get a bite as the sun got higher. Using minnows we had a nice mess of fish, the largest was 13 inches, cleaned 19 fish. Did catch fish in the brushpiles, but did not fish very long, just checking them out.
Crappiedoc,
Whites at Kanop have any size to them?
Not really, I haven't caught any donkeys there this year. Them little boogers will come on you and black out your graph up high in the water. Now the bigger ones have been 10'-20' and are up to 1-1/2#.
I changed my game plans yesterday and went for a late afternoon-evening bite. The crappie were more than anxious to play along, my first 30min resembled a Nov day. I started off keeping a few and kept getting bit. Whoa Nellie, I'm not gonna clean that many fish. 1st off, my keepin-n-cleaning is when water temps are much cooler, it's a taste thing for me. I really have no clue as to the numbers, I eventually turned them all back since I stayed out much later than I wanted to. Around sundown I went shooting some banks and found some saugys which kept me out till 1:30am. They would tic the minnow baits so I started slingin' some grubs. At first I was pitching 1/4's and caught a couple and missed some, but when I went tandem with a 1/16 over a 1/8 I found some lips. The lighter jigs were the ticket. I think I caught a bakers dozen with a couple 20", most were 14"-15". No fish were harmed in making this post, but Mama was a little more inquisitive than normal. You know me, but honey smell my hands. Go have a ball and take them kids fishing!!!!! Tear 'em up

Wow, sounds like you had a good evening fishing. Were there many boats out?
Yea, I agree crappiedoc. You'd think people would be working for a living. Pffft! Onto the fishing, sounds like a fun trip with plenty of action on a good mixed bag of fish. Congrats.Thumbs Up
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Fished with an guide at Texoma once. He always carried a big bag of popcorn to fake out the people too lazy to find there own fish.
