A few months ago I came back to the ramp to load my boat. When I got to my truck there was an envelope under my wiper. It was a letter from the sheriff's office saying my trailer might not be in compliance with Kansas laws by not having a tag. It also said they are going to start enforcing the trailer tag law and would be issuing tickets if out of compliance. I have a 19' Skeeter with a dual axle trailer so I took it and had it weighed on the way home from fishing the other day. It was over 2000lbs so I needed to tag it. Went to the tag office and I had a boat title and a motor title but no trailer title so they said I couldn't tag it tell I got the trailer titled.. So now I have to find a way to get a title.
Told a friend about it and he had bought a new big Skeeter in 2002 and only received a certificate of origin. They expected that then back charged him to 2002 tell now for never having it tagged. Won't say the amount but I could have bought a 10" Garmin plus tax. Just a FYI if your pulling a trailer in Kansas over 2000 lbs they are coming after your money.
Be safe and hook a bign.

I have a 22 ft G3 pontoon, single axle. It weighs over 2,000 lbs. I get, every Feb. a notice from the state to get a trailer tag. Never had a problem before and I have been registering it for at least 8 years. Might want to check with your county clerk. One phone call to them might save you a lot of frustration.
My boat and trailer are registered in Kansas....
Sacred Heart of Mary, pray for us now, and at the hour of our death. AMEN
