My wife and I talk about this all the time when we see the big bad bass boats doing 70 or 80 on Melvern or Pomona. Ill stick to the smaller engines and slower speeds. I currently have a 21 foot pontoon that will run 27 tops and that is plenty fast enough for me to get where I'm going. Most of the time I run along at about 18 to 20mph and that gets me and my family there plenty fast enough. I just get up a little earlier. LOL No good reason for someone to run 60 to 80mph in a boat on a public lake. Save that crap for private lakes or boat races. To many idiots out there as it is. Excessive speed doesn't need to enter the equation.
