Always wear a flotation device(life jacket) and if you do go in the water don’t panic! Keep your head and get to a warm vehicle...

Cold weather brings the best 'big fish' times of the year. But,,,,, it's dang cold. 1 thing i carry is a set of sweats pants(2x)and a hoodie sweatshirt(zipup), socks and hand warmers(not last years). If you or anybody else falls overboard, will be very thankful for some dry clothes to get in. A ladder on the boat is most helpful. Any more ? <*)}}}><

Ive read several places most people drown in cold water from gasping when they hit the cold water inhaling it causing them to drown. Something to really think about if you know your falling in. Might be easier said than done.

maybe a little ice melt for the boat ramp or dock
Good call chatt. Having some dry clothes is smart and a ladder is a MUST ! You don't have much time to get back in the boat... I carry a few of those cheap little packaged emergency blankets too. Not much to them but they hold some heat in.

I also have a giant zip lock go bag with dry clothes, including towels.
Glad you brought it up.

As a true geezer I've been doing it for years. As a youngster I carried a day pack with items to help me survive a night on wintertime high altitude elk bowhunts in the Rockies. Don't do that any longer but I carry even more stuff in the boat. I have waterproof box with a bag of dry stuff and also a small propane heater, hand warmers and a couple space blankets. My bag of dry stuff is extensive but it all still fits in a small waterproof box. In my Army days I once had a bad dose of hypothermia. It taught me to get dry and warm immediately. Not to try to make it back to the truck heater with wet clothes on. I put a ladder on my Lund a few years ago. Never needed it in the Winter but I fish like I hunted. Usually by myslf. My boat holds a lot of stuff!

Don’t forget hot liquids to warm your insides. I used to scuba dive under the ice wearing a wetsuit. You get coldest after coming out of the water and it’s harder and takes longer to warm up even after shedding wet clothes. Alcohol consumption in this situation is taboo until fully warmed.
