JB Weld?

Started dismantling my boat deck today and found that ALL of the aluminum cleats that attach the front deck to the hull have been broken loose and need to be re-attached. JOY OF JOYS! Has anyone used JB Weld in areas like this? Any suggestions? I know the correct way would be to have them all welded back in. However if there is another solution that could be a permanent fix without resorting to painting the bow of the boat, I"m all ears. I'll post some pic's later. Right now just having a disgust break.
