Hey, sounds good to me. I've hunted with guys who took 5-6 boxes and still didn't get a limit. It really depends on "how" you shoot. I mean if you take your time and pop 'em when your patterns right, your avg goes up. If your practicing those shots that plague you, ploop, you avg drops. What shells you shoot seem to make the biggest difference I've found. Them cheap light loads just aren't worth it to me. Those Double AA's or Nitro Clays were actually cheaper and way more efficient for me. They cost more/box, but I didn't need as many shots. I loved opening day of doves, in highschool my football coach was infuriated with me because come 9-1 ole fatboy wasn't on the field. But, I still lettered 3 yrs in football. Black 'em out and bag 'em up. Good luck Thumbs Up

I have found that a lot of it depends on where you are hunting them. In Western Kansas where a average wind is 20+mph, I can burn up a whole lot of ammo sitting over a pond. Here in Eastern Kansas, my shot to kill ratio is much better cause they aint flying near so fast! When you have 4 or 5 of them coming in at a time with a 20 or 30 mph tailwind, those buggers are flat crankin when they come over the pond!!

Still isnt much better than going out opening day and shooting several boxes of shells. Woke up many mornings after opening day with a black and blue shoulder!

You guys are doing it all wrong. If they're bunched up on the ground or lined up on the phone line, your average gets MUCH BETTER!

Dave sounds great and hopefully we can make it happen in 2013 but I will be sitting out another season over here in Afghanistan. I hope you all have a good safe hunt and it was great getting together to fish with you back in April.

Getting closer........think its going to be good as the weather up north is cooling dramatically and should start driving quite a few birds south

If you are seeing birds up there maybe I need to come out for opening day, I only saw 7 yesterday, with my brother and 3 of my kids i don't think the 7 birds go far enough, I like to shoot at least 3 boxes of shells to get my 15
