Been revisiting buck tails designs. I like the layered look they present. I also like some of the profiles I get from Deer body hair.

Nice little tub for a belly when the deer hair flares.

One box worth in the books.

Still experimenting and changing my mind every other jig. All over the place trying to make decisions. Saw some videos using synthetic hairs and feel compelled to try my hand at that. Black Friday but no one wants to deal with what interests me. Told my sick wife get dressed baby…..we are going to Wally World for Black Friday.

    Yeah right
Maybe they will bite this one……

Wife is feeling much better this morning. She actually slept last night. I am still coughing and feel a little off.

No matter what I use for materials, the old bucktail jig still shines through.

Here is some deer belly hair. I formed two Money bumps, tied on backwards, inverted, and then crowded the hair in the notch. I suppose the hair will gather inwards as water rushes by. Shad belly.

Found a deal on Hareline Extra Select Craft Fur……after searching high and low. $4 a pack free shipping. They tell me it is a very good quality “hair”. It is longer than real hair and you get more of it. More of it is exactly what I need. LOL

I have discovered Hollow flies and like the idea of how they give the appearance of heft while being sparse. They undulate nicely. I also been looking into steelhead flies and jigs for ideas. All very enjoyable stuff. I see a video, then quick try my hand, then move on. Maybe I’ll settle on a few ideas for my personal lures.

Tired of being sick. Gonna run to the dump soon. Then get out the ……wait for it……wait……Christmas decorations. Lights, wreathes, tree, doo dads and gizmo pops. Then she will insist that I…….wait for it…….wait…….string the outdoor lights again. Just like last year. I hate stringing the stupid lights. She doesn’t care that I hate it, or that I might fall and die. In her world it will all be worth it when she gets to see them in the dark.

The craft hair jigs look really nice, those are winners. I've used them for years and have caught lots of fish with them. Probably my second favorite jig after the duck feather jigs I tie.

Get some dryer sheets. Lots of static in the extra select craft fur.
